About our Club
Shooting in the Childers district was active prior to 1918 with the Childers Rifle Club meeting at a range in Cordalba. Later a range was established at the current site in Horton about 7km from Childers township. The Isis District Small Bore Rifle Club was established sometime after 1950.
Pistol shooting was introduced to the club in 1999 and resulted in a significant increase in club membership. The club was renamed the Childers Rifle & Pistol Club to reflect it’s changed activities. Today we have in excess of 150 members and we are continuing to expand our facilities and the number of events conducted.
Club Affiliations
The Club is directly affiliated with Pistol Shooting Queensland and Queensland Target Sports. These affiliations link us with Pistol Australia, Target Rifle Australia and Shooting Australia.
Members can receive coaching and assistance to compete at national and international level in their chosen discipline if they have the dedication and ability.
Corporate Support
The Club is very grateful for the generous support our sponsors and the Gambling Community Benefit Fund have provided. Without their ongoing assistance our club would not have the facilities and services that we provide to our members.
Members of he club and the community are encouraged to support our sponsors with their custom and recognition.
